Native Swamp Orchid



Phaius australis is found in eastern Queensland and north eastern New South Wales. The species is listed as endangered in both states but id still found growing in paperbark swamps and dampish areas in forests and woodlands. Flowers in spring, September to November – warm red/brown face, soft off-white velvety feel to the underside of the blossom.
